Our Client is an international food production company seeking an experienced and driven General Manager to lead their Hungarian manufacturing site. As a key figure within their international network, you will represent Hungary at a senior level, collaborating with cross-functional teams across multiple countries and contributing meaningfully to the long-term development of the business.
GENERAL MANAGER CEE
As General Manager, you will drive business growth and operational excellence across Central & Eastern Europe, holding full P&L responsibility for revenue, profitability, and customer portfolio development.

THE JOB
- Lead financial planning, budgeting, and performance management with full P&L accountability, ensuring the effective use of resources to achieve financial and operational targets.
- Define and execute the business strategy in line with regional and global objectives, driving strong performance across both operational and commercial activities.
- Define and execute the commercial strategy for the CEE region, driving profitable growth and business expansion.
- Develop and grow strategic customer relationships while identifying and securing new business opportunities.
- Lead commercial negotiations to maximize value, profitability, and long-term partnerships.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver customer-focused innovations and respond effectively to market trends and opportunities.
- Evaluate and implement relevant commercial models (direct sales, distribution, partnerships)
- Lead safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing operations, ensuring compliance with global quality, safety, and operational standards.
- Drive continuous improvement in plant performance, cost efficiency, capacity utilization, and the successful industrialization of new products and technologies.
- Lead, develop and inspire the management team across production, quality, logistics, purhcasing, safety, finance.
- Foster a strong commercial and customer-centric culture within the organization.
- Represent the company with external stakeholders and ensure adherence to Group policies and values.
THE PERSON
- Proven experience in General Management, Commercial Leadership, or Business Development, including responsibility for multi-country or regional markets, ideally within Central & Eastern Europe.
- Min 5+ years of leadership experience in food production, feed, or ingredient industry.
- Solid experience with P&L management, combining operational and commercial accountability.
- Solid understanding of food safety standards (HACCP, GMP) — animal nutrition background is a strong advantage.
- Familiarity with IFS, FSSC 22000, or equivalent food safety certifications.
- Strong track record of driving revenue growth, developing customers’ accounts, and acquiring new business.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex commercial negotiations and manage customer relationships.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.
- Fluent in Hungarian and English at a professional level; additional European language is a plus.
