Our Client is an international food production company seeking an experienced and driven General Manager to lead our Hungarian manufacturing site. As a key figure within their international network, you will represent Hungary at a senior level, collaborating with cross-functional teams across multiple countries and contributing meaningfully to the long-term development of the business.
A core part of this role is driving a deliberate and sustainable shift in how the site operates and how people work together. We are looking for a leader who has done this before and knows how to bring people on the journey — not just mandate change from the top.
GENERAL MANAGER
Location: Hungary

THE JOB
- Own full site P&L, budget planning to Group leadership
- Lead, develop and inspire the management team across production, quality, logistics, purhcasing, safety, finance.
- Drive operational efficiency and continuous improvement across the production facility.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, regulatory, and group quality standards (HACCP, ISO, GMP)
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local suppliers and regulatory authorities
- Partner with international peers on product development, procurement, and best-practice sharing
- Champion a safety-first culture and a positive working environment across the site
- Represent the Hungarian site within the broader Group organisation at leadership level
THE PERSON
- Proven senior management experience within international organizations
- min 5+ years of leadership experience in food production, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals,
- Proven track record managing operations, teams, and budgets end-to-end with full P&L accountability
- Experience working within an international and/or matrix organization
- Demonstrated experience leading cultural transformation within a production or operations environment
- Track record of creating psychological safety that encourages accountability, continuous improvement, and open feedback within the operation
- Solid understanding of food safety standards (HACCP, GMP) — animal nutrition background is a strong advantage
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to drive both top-line growth and cost discipline
- Fluent in Hungarian and English at a professional level; additional European language is a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across all organizational levels
